Education and Training

I completed my Master’s in Counselling Psychology with the Adler University in Vancouver, in 1993. I have Dialectical Behaviour Therapy intensive training, Complex PTSD training, Mentalization Based training. I utilize both cognitive behavioural therapy and DBT strategies, motivational interviewing, mentalization-based therapy, mindfulness techniques, and trauma informed therapy. 

In addition to private practice, I work in an urgent mental health clinic in Victoria, BC, working with a wide variety of complex and acute mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, personality disorders, trauma, grief and loss, PTSD. I work with Borderline Personality Disorder within a DBT frame and have taught both DBT skills and CBT skills in groups and individually. 

I have worked within the field of mental health for decades.

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with BCACC -membership #2725 (BC Association of Clinical Counsellors)
